Students annotated and analyzed this poem and then watched multiple interpretations of "If", determining the lighting, mood, and tone of each rendition. Then students created their own "If" poems by integrating Kipling's poetry with their own writing, personalizing the poem.

#1 You should trust yourself even when others don’t,
But try to bear the truth that you have spoken.

The U.S. will always know you for your bravery,
Honor, dedication, and respect!
You’ll be standing with military soldiers,
Awaiting the next attack on our nation,
And we’ll be ready.
